Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue is a highly organized, highly motivated, completely non-profit, all volunteer group.
We can’t help others without your help. As a nonprofit organization, we rely in large part on donations from businesses and individuals in order to purchase critical safety equipment, conduct training, and keep our volunteers informed and ready should an emergency arise. TNSAR has full tax-exempt status, is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization (Tax ID #94-2737988) and is incorporated in California.
Donations are accepted via PayPal, Venmo or Zelle (which does not impose a transaction fee). To donate using Zelle from your banking app specify our business name TahoeNordicSAR and you should see TAHOE NORDIC SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM INC.
The Great Ski Race
While dependent to a great extent on donations, TNSAR conducts one primary fundraiser each year: The Great Ski Race. The race has grown to be the largest Nordic ski race in the West with a thousand Nordic skiers competing along a spectacular 30km route from Tahoe City to Truckee. Volunteer at the event or compete to support the cause.
